No New Clients? Catching Our Breath

What a weird post this is going to be. We've recently launched a software application called JoomConnect. It's been having some great success. It's in part responsible for bringing a lot of work to our small company bringing our staff from 9 to 17 strong in a very short time (7 of them in 60 days). It's been awesome and we've been training and getting everyone up to speed. We have been super impressed with the new members of our team and we'll be introducing them shortly (soon as we can catch our breath).

We are working for some of the industry greats, like ConnectWise, HTG Peer Groups and many incredible IT/MSP Partners that have adopted JoomConnect for use in their businesses as well as our awesome local clientele.

We plan to keep it that way. We won't lose site of the clients who got us here.  So effective immediately, in order to maintain the service levels our clients expect, Directive's web division will stop taking on new web design clients until further notice.

For those of you that have engaged us, about to close deals with us, or recently purchased JoomConnect we will honor our current proposals, we welcome you aboard and we are full steam ahead.

JoomConnect will be fine and the JoomConnect team will still provide conversions in order to keep JoomConnect available. We are building our Partner Program with some great Web Designers, Developers and services in the IT industry. Lots to come soon on this!

A few things happened that have pushed me to this decision.

  1. I pretty much blew a speaking engagement because I was too swamped and exhausted to make sure I was ready, I showed up, still spoke, but I wasn't prepared. This made me feel terrible.
  2. As a young bull, I've learned at least one thing, listen to the old Bulls. Arlin Sorenson is one of those old bulls. I spoke with him today, he contacted me out of the blue to give us some advice about our growing business.  It means a lot to me.  He sees what’s going on so clearly it's scary. One of the things he touched on really struck a chord, learning to say "no" and balancing in some personal life. He didn't think we had done anything wrong but just thought he'd offer up a few pieces of advice so we wouldn't make the same mistakes he did. Such a cool guy.
  3. We run ConnectWise and we can tell we are very booked. :)

Now, he didn't say quit taking on business or anything. And he might not even think this is a good idea, but I'm executing. :)  Don't worry we'll be back soon, this is only temporary. If you have any questions or concerns about this feel free to contact me. This will either be a stupid decision or a great one, but we will all sleep better giving our clients the high quality service they deserve.

Weigh in! Am an idiot? Would you keep hiring and wing it, or catch your breath.
