Tip: How To Set Your Homepage on Your Web Browser

b2ap3_thumbnail_Homepage400.jpgIs your web browser's home page looking drab and boring? Do you wish that you could change it to something fresh and exciting but you just don't know how to do it? Introducing Home Page Settings! By using Home Page Settings, you can give your Web Browser that fresh look you have always wanted, and the best part is that it's free!

Mozilla Firefox
To access the settings in Firefox, you will want to click on the orange icon in the upper-left corner that says Firefox. A drop down menu will now appear, go to Options > Options. Find the Startup section and then select When Firefox starts: Show my home page. It is now just a matter of deciding which website you want to use as your new home page and inserting the URL into the form. Finish by clicking OK.

Internet Explorer
With Internet Explorer open, go to Tools > Internet options. You should see a Tools tab; if you do not see the tab, then click Alt to display it. You can also bring up IE settings by clicking on the gear icon on the upper right-hand corner. This will bring up Internet Options which should be opened up to the General tab. The form that you will use to change your homepage will have an icon of a little house next to it, go ahead and enter the URL of your desired home page and then click OK when you are done.

Google Chrome
Last but not least, there is Google Chrome. To switch up your home page in Chrome, go to the upper-right corner of the browser and click on Customize and Control Google Chrome; this icon will look like three lines. You will now go to Settings > On Startup > Open a specific page or set of pages, followed by clicking on Set Pages. You will see a form that has text instructing you to Enter URL..., do what it says and then click OK.

Your home page should now be to your liking. Being greeted by your favorite website every time that you open your web browser is like being greeted by an old friend and will save you a click or two from having to regularly navigate to that website.
